Compt: How to Invite Team Members - Admins
Admins can invite Employees to join Compt manually or automatically. Manual invitations let you choose specific Employees from the Team list and send invitations when needed. Automatic invitations send invites to eligible new hires after they are added to Compt.
Manual invitations are helpful when you want control over timing, such as during onboarding or before a stipend program launches. Automatic invitations can reduce administrative work, but they should only be enabled once your program is ready for Employees to access.
OVERVIEW
Compt is a platform that helps companies manage stipends and reimburse Employees through payroll. A stipend is a set amount of money your company provides for eligible expenses.
Before Employees can access their stipends, submit a claim, and receive reimbursement, they must first be invited to join Compt.
Admins can invite Employees in two ways:
- Manually invite one or more Employees from the Team list
- Enable automatic invitations for eligible new hires
WHEN TO USE
Use this article when you need to:
- Invite one or more Employees to join Compt
- Resend an invitation to an Employee whose invite expired
- Enable automatic invitations for new hires
- Invite all Employees in your Team list at once
BEFORE YOU START
Before inviting Employees, make sure:
- Employees have already been added to the Team tab in Compt
- Employee email addresses are correct
- Your program is ready for Employees to access Compt, especially if you plan to enable automatic invitations
Keep in mind:
- Invitations are delivered within a few minutes after sending
- Employees have 5 days to access the invitation link before it expires
- If an invitation expires, you can send a new one using the same steps
- Employees with an Active status will not receive another invitation
HOW TO
To manually invite Employees:
- Log into Compt.
- Click Stipend admin or Expense admin, then the Team tab.
- Select the checkbox next to each Employee you want to invite.
- If you want to invite everyone on the current page, select the checkbox next to the Name column.
- If your team has more than 100 Employees, click Select all [X] team members to include the full list.
- Click Actions.
- Click Send Invitation.
- Confirm the invitations have been sent.

To turn on automatic invitations for eligible new hires:
- Log into Compt.
- Click the Company Settings tab.
- Click Edit under New Hire Invitation Settings.
- Review the feature details.
- Select Automatically send invites to eligible new hires.
- Click Save Changes.
- Confirm automatic invitations are enabled.

WHAT HAPPENS NEXT
After you send an invitation:
- The Employee receives an invitation email within a few minutes
- The invitation link remains active for 5 days
- Once the Employee accepts the invitation, they can log into Compt and access their account
If automatic invitations are enabled, eligible new hires automatically receive an invitation after they are added to the Team list.
Reimbursement is processed through payroll. For exact timing, Employees should check the FAQ tab in Compt for company-specific details.
TROUBLESHOOTING
If an Employee did not receive an invitation:
- Confirm the Employee was selected before clicking Send Invitation
- Check that the Employee’s email address is correct in the Team tab
- Ask the Employee to check their spam or junk folder
- Send the invitation again if the original link expired
If the Employee’s status is Active:
- Employees with an Active status will not receive another invitation
- Confirm whether the Employee already has access to Compt
If not all Employees were invited:
- If you have more than 100 Employees, selecting the top checkbox may only select the visible page
- Click Select all [X] team members before sending invitations
If automatic invitations should not be turned on yet:
- New customers should wait until after their launch date to enable automatic invitations
- If Employees are automatically invited before launch, they may not have access to stipend details
