How to Customize Notification Emails (Company Administrators)
Admins can customize the email and Slack notifications that Compt automatically sends to employees. This allows you to add company-specific messaging, resources, and guidance so notifications feel less generic and better reflect your organization’s communication style.
Custom messages appear inside the notification employees receive from Compt. While you can edit the subject line and message content, the notification type, schedule, and timing cannot be changed and notifications apply to all stipend types, not individual stipends.
OVERVIEW
Compt automatically sends certain notifications to employees related to stipends, such as invitations, new stipends, and expiration reminders.
Admins can customize the messaging inside these notifications to include company-specific instructions, helpful links, or reminders. Custom messages appear under the “A Message from Your Company” section in the employee notification.
You can customize notifications for:
• Slack (if the Slack integration is enabled)
WHEN TO USE
Use this feature when you want to:
• Add a personalized message to Compt notifications
• Provide employees with internal resources or benefit guidelines
• Include links to company documentation
• Set expectations around claim reviews or reimbursement timing
• Remind employees about stipend expiration rules
BEFORE YOU START
Before customizing notifications, keep the following in mind:
• Notification types and schedules cannot be changed
• Notifications apply to all stipend types, not individual stipends
• Slack notifications can only be customized if the Slack integration is active
• Notifications must be enabled in order to send to employees
HOW TO
- Log into Compt as an Admin.
- Click on Stipend Admin tab then Notifications.

Click New Customizable Notification to create a new notification.

- Click the Pencil icon under the Action column to edit an existing notification.

Select the Notification Type from the dropdown menu.

- Select the Notification Channel from the dropdown menu.
Available options include:
• Slack (if enabled)
- Enter a Subject Line if the notification channel is Email.
Note: Subject lines are not available for Slack notifications.
- Enter your Custom Message.
The text you add will appear in a gray box under “A Message from Your Company” in the employee notification.
- Check the Enabled checkbox.
- Click Save.
WHAT HAPPENS NEXT
Once saved and enabled:
• Employees will receive the notification according to the system schedule
• Your custom message will appear in the notification
• Any future notifications of that type will include your updated content
If a notification is not enabled, it will remain saved as a draft and will not be sent to employees.
TROUBLESHOOTING
Notification is not sending
Check that the Enabled checkbox is selected. Notifications that are not enabled remain in draft status and will not send.
Subject line field is missing
The Subject Line field only appears when Email is selected as the notification channel.
Cannot customize a notification for a specific stipend
Notification types apply to all stipend types and cannot be customized per stipend.

Q: Can I change when notifications are sent?
A: No. Notification schedules are fixed and cannot be modified. This is the schedule of when notifications are sent:
