Groups and Group Change Settings (Company Administrators)

Employee Groups can be used to determine an employee's eligibility for a stipend or can be referenced in various reports. On your company's Team Tab in Compt, you can manage what groups Employees belong to

  1. To add additional group columns, you must contact support@compt.io
  2. Once the group columns have been added, you can edit these groups directly by clicking in the table or through a bulk upload.
  3. Group values can be changed anytime, but the implications of the changes may vary. See "Group Changes" below for more detail.

When do you want Group changes to take effect?

Admins can control group change settings on the Company Settings tab under Group Change Settings.

Immediate Group Changes

With the "immediate" group change setting, if someone switches groups, they will immediately lose access to any stipend they are no longer eligible for and immediately gain access to new stipends they are eligible for.

⚠️ This setting can lead to an employee receiving "extra" funding, so be careful when using this! For example, if you have a $100 monthly stipend for full-time employees and a $50 monthly stipend for part-time employees. If a part-time employee uses their whole $50 stipend at the beginning of the month and then becomes promoted into a full-time employee after that with this setting on, they will lose access to their $50 stipend and immediately receive the $100 stipend. This results in them having $150 for that one month. With this in mind, you may want to make "Funding Corrections" (an action on the Team page) to adjust balances accordingly.

1st of the next month Group Changes

With "the 1st of the next month" group change setting, group changes get processed on the 1st of the following month after the group change is made. That means on the 1st of the following month, employees will lose access to any stipends they're no longer eligible for and gain access to new stipends they're eligible for. We recommend this setting for most customers.
