Compt: How to Set Eligibility Using Multiple Group Rules for Stipends - Admins
You can now define stipend eligibility using multiple employee group rules when creating Recurring or New Hire stipends in Compt. This allows Admins to assign different stipend amounts based on combinations of attributes such as department, location, seniority, or other custom employee groups.
By combining multiple group columns from the Team page, you can create specific eligibility rules and assign a unique stipend amount for each combination. This allows companies to manage more complex stipend structures without creating multiple stipends.
OVERVIEW
Admins can configure stipend eligibility using multiple employee group criteria when setting up Recurring or New Hire stipends.
This feature allows you to:
- Define stipend amounts based on combinations of employee groups
- Assign different stipend amounts to different employee populations
- Manage complex eligibility structures within a single stipend
Group criteria are pulled directly from the group columns configured on the Team page in Compt.
WHEN TO USE
Use multi-criteria eligibility when:
• Different departments receive different stipend amounts
• Stipend amounts vary by employee location or country
• Seniority levels receive different benefits
• Multiple employee attributes must be considered together
This avoids needing to create multiple stipends for different employee segments.
BEFORE YOU START
Before configuring eligibility using multiple criteria:
- Ensure the employee group columns you want to use exist on the Team page
- Confirm employees are assigned to the correct group values
- Decide which combinations of groups should receive different stipend amounts
If a required group column does not exist, you must request it from your Customer Success Manager or Compt Support (support@compt.io).

- Click Next or select the Perk Categories tab to continue creating the stipend.
WHAT HAPPENS NEXT
After completing the stipend setup:
- Employees will become eligible based on the group combinations you defined
- Each eligible employee will receive the stipend amount assigned to their group combination
- Employees will see the stipend on their My Stipends page once the stipend becomes active
- Employees can then submit a claim for eligible purchases under that stipend.
Reimbursement is processed through payroll. For exact timing, Employees should check the FAQ tab in Compt for company-specific details.
